Early Bird Deadline January 15th

As a planning partner for the Growing Local 2011 Conference, the Canadian CED Network is pleased support and promote the work of our members, Food Matters Manitoba. This event is an opportunity to learn new food skills, support your local farmer & work towards healthy, fair, and sustainable food for all Manitobans.

Keynote

The conference kicks off with keynote speaker Joel Salatin, from the documentary Fresh and the Academy Award-nominated Food Inc. For those unable to attend the full Conference, tickets are also available for Thursday night only!

Workshops and Discussions

Continuing on the Friday and Saturday, conference programs will include more than 30 food-related workshops, displays and a Good Eats Youth Gathering. Workshop topics include Escaping Fast Food Culture, Relationship Marketing: the Value Chain, and Traditional Fish and Moose Meat Smoking, amongst others.

Culinary Tour of Manitoba

You also won’t want to miss the Friday evening “Culinary Tour” showcasing some of Manitoba’s best chefs and the farmers who grew the food. It’s a fabulous way to remind us that even in the depths of winter, there are still delicious flavors of Manitoba to be found!
